Devotional: “Let Go to Lead”
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Reflection:
In a world that praises independence and self-reliance, this verse hits differently. As men striving to lead our families, love our wives well, and guide our children with strength and wisdom, we often feel pressure to have all the answers. But God isn’t asking us to know everything—He’s asking us to trust Him in everything.
Trusting the Lord with all your heart means releasing the illusion of control. It means admitting that our own understanding—no matter how experienced, logical, or well-intentioned—is limited. God’s plan isn’t just bigger; it’s better. Submission to Him isn’t weakness; it’s alignment. When we acknowledge Him in every decision, every season, and every step, He straightens the path—not always to make it easier, but to make it right.
As husbands, we’re called to love with sacrifice. As fathers, we’re shaping the next generation. As leaders, others are watching our example. So the question becomes: are we leaning on our own wisdom, or are we leaning on His?
Prayer:
Lord, help me release the weight of trying to figure it all out on my own. Teach me to trust You with a whole heart. In every role You’ve given me—as a husband, a father, and a leader—may I walk in humility, courage, and obedience. Straighten my path as I follow You. Amen.
