Devotional Reflection on Ephesians 6:10-11
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.”
Every man knows what it feels like to step into something bigger than himself — a new job, a leadership role, fatherhood, coaching, or just a season of life that demands more than we think we’ve got. The weight of responsibility can feel heavy. The pressure to perform can feel like armor we don’t have yet.
But this verse reminds us: We don’t have to fight with our own strength. We’re not expected to walk into the battle fully equipped — we just need to walk into it faithfully.
“God doesn’t call the equipped; He equips the called.” That’s not just a motivational quote — it’s a spiritual truth. God isn’t waiting for you to be perfect before He uses you. He’s not looking for the strongest, the smartest, or the most experienced. He’s looking for the available.
The armor of God — truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and the Word — isn’t built in us by talent or status. It’s something He provides. It’s His power, not ours. He doesn’t expect us to take a stand against the enemy on our own — He invites us to do it in His strength.
So whether you’re suiting up for a game, leading your family, facing temptation, or feeling unworthy of the role you’re in — remember: God provides what the mission requires. Your job is to show up and put on the armor.
Leadership Takeaway:
You weren’t called because you had it all figured out. You were called because God wants to show His strength through you. Suit up daily in His armor. Don’t lead from insecurity — lead with the quiet confidence of someone who’s been outfitted by the King. You may not feel ready, but if you’re called, you’re already equipped.
