THE THANG:
The Monster Mile(s)
is mile gauntlet that fuses running endurance with bodyweight strength circuits. To complete each 0.25 mile lap, athletes must complete a ladder, with reps increasing at every checkpoint and exercises changing every lap. This high-intensity challenge builds mental toughness, full-body fitness, and accountability—every lap is monstrous.
Lap Breakdown (Exercises Per Lap):
Lap – Exercise
1 – Burpees
2 – Big Boy Sit-Ups
3 – Jump Squats
4 – Merkins
5 – Plank Jacks
6 – Mountain Climbers
After Lap 6, return to Lap 1 and repeat the cycle if time allows.
Lap Structure:
– Run Distance: 0.25 miles (one lap)
– Ladder Reps per Lap:
– Checkpoint 1: 5 reps
– Checkpoint 2: 10 reps
– Checkpoint 3: 15 reps
– Checkpoint 4: 20 reps
Workout Goal:
– Minimum: 4 Laps = 1 Mile
– Advanced: 8 Laps = 2 Miles, 12 = 3 Miles
– Focus on maintaining effort, encouraging PAX through checkpoints, and staying accountable to form and rep count.
This beatdown challenges both aerobic capacity and muscular endurance while promoting mental toughness and team support.
